This couple decided to go for a unique wedding - a traditional Slavic pagan one.

More and more couples are looking for something really special and unique – unusual color combos and cool wedding themes, even geeky ones. If you want something unusual too but don’t know where to look for the inspiration, look at these guys. Marti and Michael decided to go for a traditional Slavic pagan wedding filled with rituals and traditions, and what’s more – the wedding was fully DIY, every single detail and costume. Ready to see all of this gorgeousness? Let’s go!

The couple got married in the backyard of their private property where they are going to build their own home for the family one day, which made the space even more special. There were only 10 guests and only two months to plan the whole thing. The day was filled with lots of interesting kinds of entertainment and customs; there was fire, meditation, candles, relaxation, dancing, food and love to each other and nature. For the ceremony the guys lit candles, exchanged vows and rings, meditated by the fireplace. They also had white doves to release them after the ceremony, which is another tradition.

The bride’s dress, groom’s suit and bridesmaids’ gowns were all handmade by the bride, her mom and girls. The bride was wearing a traditional white dress with a colorful sash, and so did the groom – he was rocking a traditional suit with a sash. All the decor, headpieces and absolutely everything was DIY here. I must say: I totally love the lush greenery and floral headpiece for everyone – looks so pagan! The wedding color scheme was warm colors, orange and red. There was no wedding cake, only some cupcakes and a sweets table. Enjoy and get inspired!
