This fall wedding was a vintage-inspired one as the couple owns a 200-year-old house, where the wedding took place
There’s no place like home, especially when your home is a 200-year-old country farmhouse in Vermont! Andy and Asha’s darling home was the perfect location for a sweet, vintage-inspired wedding surrounded by family and friends.
The wedding theme chosen was vintage with all their favorite things and touches of pale blues and lace, burgundy velvets and old barn wood that they salvaged on the property when they first moved in. The music was from the 50s, and the maid of honor sewed a ring pillow out of the bride’s grandma’s handkerchief.
The bride was wearing an ivory strapless wedding gown with a lace embellished bodice and ballet flats. The groom was wearing a brown three-piece tweed suit, amber shoes. The bridesmaids were rocking aqua-colored maxi dresses with illusion sleeves.
The mother of the bride is a florist and she arranged all the florals for the wedding. The groom prepped the entire property and built both the altar and reception chandelier out of found branches and twigs from Tinmouth Mountain. The couple sourced over 1,000 pieces of vintage china from their family collections and generous donations of family and friends! The bride spent an entire day in the kitchen with the bridesmaids and bridesmen, making every single (vegan and gluten-free) wedding dessert by hand. The only dessert they didn’t make was the wedding cake, a maple marzipan cake with tahini buttercream and raspberry jam, covered in marzipan maple leaves.
