All of this tape inspired art came about from a piece by Brooklyn artist Maya Hayuk, a work with overlapping stripes in brilliant colors. Her mesmerizing and joyful art inspired REVEL to create this brilliant outdoor party. They created this shoot by painting various items – invitations, place cards, a fabric table runner, bud vases, favor boxes, and a big canvas backdrop with fuchsia, marigold, teal, and burgundy stripes. A little masking tape, some rulers, and a pencil make wonders! It’s actually a very cheap and cool idea. You can just buy washi tape in any crafts shop, for example on Etsy, and then just let your creative juices flowing! The only advise – use matching colors of washi tape but adhere it in different directions to make the whole look more interesting.
