Wedding is a great party to celebrate a love story, so one of my favorite bits of the day is the waving off from the ceremony, throwing confetti all the way. Confetti often gets forgotten in the planning, or passed over as old-fashioned and passe, but nothing could be further from the truth – confetti has had a renaissance in the last couple of years and a huge number of alternatives to confetti have appeared on the scene. So, we’ve come up with a collection of our favorite alternatives to traditional rice or paper confetti, perfect ways to guests involved in making your grand exit as memorable as possible. Many of these options are biodegradable and eco-friendly, so take a look!
Biodegradable Alternatives
The best alternative to wedding confetti is biodegradable confetti, which can be made of dried and fresh leaves. You can use dried blooms and petals, olive greenery, lavender, herbs that will bring natural aromas to the wedding. You may use various creative ideas like feathers (of course naturally gathered), confetti made of rice paper or simple paper confetti – paper is still biodegradable. This way you’ll minimize your ecological trace and will still have fun during the wedding exit.
