Something that’s been around for a while, but has recently picked up steam as a potential hot wedding trend for 2013 is the Crown Cake Topper. We’ve been spotting them pop up at weddings all over the place and we are in love. Originally the idea of uber wedding photographer and fellow blogger Elizabeth Messina, she used crowns as a mini-theme in her own wedding, placing one on top of the cake and gave a crown to her son to carry the rings down the aisle. From big to small; gold, silver and bronze; jeweled or embossed; metal or paper, crown cake toppers come in all sorts of sizes and designs but are all definitely the icing on the cake (quite literally!).
